Step by step summary guide to purchasing

1) Please contact your nearest referring (sales) agent (RA) office (in contacts section) for more information, including a detailed factual brochure or you can find full information provided on this website.

2) Ask any questions that you, or your financial / marine consultant, have of your marketing sales agent or, if necessary, direct to AMS / FVH by e-mail to questions@floating-village.com (see also FAQ) or to Simon Turner simon@iconovista.com

At your option you can request a pro-forma letter / proposal from your RA but note that this cannot be considered as legally binding and does not constitute any sort of offer.

3) Via your RA, or direct contact The Bank for information on your personal vetting process. Your accountant, bank or legal advisor can also do this on your behalf however The Bank may require a letter of authority.

You may also contact Alexanders for additional legal advice but any fees for this advice will be to your account.

4) Proceed with the vetting process direct with The Bank. Vetting takes 3 days to 6 weeks subject to which country you live in and the information / format you can provide.

5) The Bank vetting confirms your right to apply for a Raffles apartment subject to you also establishing your financial capabilities with The Bank and the RA who cannot make an official proposal pending this confirmation.

6) Receive a full written formal proposal / offer together with information on all legal / financial and company material / documentation (including the Bermuda trusts / trustee agreement optional arrangement) for Raffles Limited, etc., from your agent, or FVH. The proposal will include a large brochure, a scale plan of a standard apartment and 10 various suggested (standard) apartment layouts, outline specifications / itemised contents list, various options, to select from. There will also be a detail general arrangement plan of Raffles as well as an outline technical specification for the whole ship.

7) Decide if you would like a standard 120m2 apartment or larger penthouse, select the deck and actual apartment number of choice from the deck plans. If you are interested in a penthouse a special A3 folio of all the 10 penthouse plans, with detailed dimensions of each (with all of them different sizes and shapes) will be provided.

8) Decide if you want to place a 10 or 20% deposit in escrow with The Bank noting that you have a free 1 month cooling off period during which the deposit may be withdrawn without any penalty (simply by requesting The Bank to return it).

9) If placing a 10% deposit also indicate your apartment / penthouse of choice and wait for confirmation of the ballot results and your allocation of an apartment. The ballot will be held only when all of a minimum 122 deposits have been received by The Bank.

10) If successful in the ballot, or if placing a 20% deposit and your apartment selection already confirmed in writing, proceed with your interior design plans and if requesting for a customised or specially designed apartment, a revised price proposal, which requires about 3+ weeks for AMS to prepare.

11) Confirm with The Bank and / or Alexanders direct or via your brokers / agents your intention to proceed, and state your interest or not in the optional trust structure in Bermuda and / or the basic IoM company structure and receive instructions for transfer of the 1st stage payment in € to Raffles Limited locked company account at The Bank (Isle of Man).

Advise in writing to The Bank and / or Alexanders as legal advisors, copied to FVH and your agent your interest or not in the FVH proposed 5 year ship guarantee.

12) With construction start date advised by FVH or The Bank, or your agent, proceed with transfer, of balance of funds 40% or 30% allowing 10 days for these to arrive in Isle of Man.

13) Receive from The Bank written confirmation of receipt of the 1st stage payment and transfer of …… shares of Raffles Private Limited from FVH into your name, to be held in the special purpose escrow / trust accountant in Bermuda operated by The Bank.

14) Continue with your interior plans including if you are interested in this and requested direct from FVH / AMS, costing the option to live along side Raffles participating, supervising and assisting the process while your apartment is outfitted.

15) Receive your updated apartment proposal including a very detailed contract / specification a physical scale model, about …cm x …cm x …cm, a massive sample book / box, inc. brochures of all white goods and a 3D / CAD “fly around” of your apartment.

16) At about this time receive the 3D / CAD video walk through of all the public and service areas of Raffles as designed and arranged by Donald Starkey with their theme in turn based on analysis of the majority of apartment theme.

Receive the initial 5 years cruise planning “kit” from FVH.

17) Within about 4 months you can view Raffles web cam of actual construction activity, and receive monthly written reports.

18) As advised by Alexanders, as legal advisors and the Chairman, review the draft of proposed shareholders agreement and by-laws for Raffles Limited post delivery operation.

19) As advised by The Bank, or FVH, upon their confirmation of various stage completion certificates for Raffles, prepare your funds for 2nd stage and 3rd stage payments.

20) Confirm your initial preferences / desires for the initial 5 years cruise ……… direct to FVH at cruiseschedule@floating-village.com

21) Direct to The Bank, or to the Chairman advise your views on Raffles Limited company documentation / by-laws proposed and advise The Bank or Chairman of any changes you desire (with reasons).

22) Review first planned 5 years cruise and advise FVH your views on cruiseschedule@floating-village.com

23) With Raffles completed and classed by Lloyd’s Register, approved / accepted by the Isle of Man Registry make final 15% stage payment(s), and become the owners of Raffles and carry out final review of the 5 years cruise.
